New Zealand Mud Snails confirmed in the Au Sable River
New Zealand Mud Snails have been discovered in the East Branch of the Au Sable River, just downstream of the Harrietta Hills Trout Farm-Grayling. These invasive snails can spread throughout a river system and damage fisheries.
Didymo and mud snails invade Michigan
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) recently received reports and confirmed the presence of New Zealand mud snails and Didymo (Didymosphenia geminata) in Michigan waters.
